Professor Andrew Eder

Professor Andrew Eder BDS MSc MRD FDS FFGDP FCGDent FHEA

A leading dentist and specialist, clinical academic, board adviser and charity trustee.

With a focus on excellence and innovation in clinical dentistry and dental education, Professor Eder has been in Private Practice in Harley Street, central London, for over 30 years and is recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics (registration number 61851).

Throughout his career, Professor Eder has provided high quality care for patients with complex oral health needs and contributed to the training of postgraduates and NHS trainees. He is also Emeritus Professor at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and formerly Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at UCLH and Pro-Vice-Provost at [UCL].

As Co-Editor of the British Dental Journal book on Tooth Wear, Professor Eder has a special interest in caring for patients with worn teeth. He has published extensively and has also served on the Editorial Boards of the British Dental Journal, the European Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry and the Journal of Dentistry and Oral Sciences.

Professor Eder is Board Chair at the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and a past President of Alpha Omega, the British Society for Restorative Dentistry and the Royal Society of Medicine’s Dental Section. At the Royal College of Surgeons, he was on the Board of the Faculty of Dental Surgery and Chair of the Restorative Specialty Examinations.

Professor Eder's private practice and university roles have equipped him with a valuable portfolio of transferable skills. These include strategic planning, business process improvement and financial strengths, enabling him to provide high-value advisory and consulting support across a wide range of non-executive roles and make a genuine impact.

In recognition of his various professional, charitable and communal roles and contributions, Professor Eder has received honorary fellowships and degrees as well as awards for teaching and learning and has entries in both Who's Who and Debrett's People of Today.
